The Tea House

The initial plan was just to have a simple dinner at China Square which is near gerald's mum working place. Clara finished her last paper today and all 3 of us (ger, alvin and myself) are only left with either one or two more papers which are either next wed or friday. So, we spoilt ourselves with a mid-exam break celebration.

China Square has only a ground level food court and the rest are occupied by shops and we were kinda only left with one choice; tung lok chinese ala carte restaurant at the 3rd floor. Ger wanted to be a nice son, so he decided to give his mummy a treat while the rest of us have to pay for our share of expensive ala carte buffet which set each of us back by about 36. Expensive but well-worth. I did enjoy the food and i over-ate! Gym, i cant skip you tommorow.

The food were yummy though the freaking chinese tea cost us 5 dollar per pax. If you are not feeling rich, its better for you not to step into da' tea house for some tea. Anyway, as usual, the pictures were taken using my nokia, and due to the dim lightings, a clearer deco of the place can be found at their website.

We ordered almost everything in the menu and most of the food are of quality standard and the tea lady was polite. Im rather satisfied with their service though alvin complaint about this young china girl who kept knocking over tea cups. The food came in pretty sequential order and was just-in-time. I especially enjoyed the Peking Duck and the bo pia skin and sauce they used. Yum. One of my other favorites is their fried fish with oats. The fish were sliced and fried with appropriate heat such that the inside is still white and soft. The abalone soup is tasty and delicious with just the right density and peppery yum factor. Hmmn. The fried squid was good, the sashimi were so fresh that i ate more than a dozen! The mango pudding dessert is a thumbs up too! Its milky and thick, fattening but i like. Sheesh....Why am i typing all these? As-if im doing some kind of a food review.

Anyway, in any case you guys wanna go for good chinese ala carte buffet, any restaurants under the tung lok wings should definitely be one of your first choice.

Hmmn. One day, when i start earning, i will want to bring my parents and sisters for a chinese ala carte buffet. Ideas are kinda spinning round my head right now.

Its a quiet night with just-me alone. Feeling peaceful and thank god i decided not to go mambo. Its such a waste of time and energy. Im getting old...
