Golden Rules
Long hiatus, i know. Of late, i've been keeping a lot to myself just because i didn't feel comfortable sharing.
Had a little bout of food poisoning yada after eating (i suspect) the buttered salmon at Shin Kushiya, Vivo. Thought it was just a case of moi misfortune till clara mentioned that her ex-boss got it twice eating at the same restaurant. I didn't want to taint the reputation of Shin Kushiya since i absolutely adore the branch at Pekin street behind my office to bits. I was still raving to ms. chow about their toriyaki and the next thing i knew, i had food poisoning.
Isn't it too much of a coincidence to have two person suffering from the same illness after eating from the same source? Had my hands on the trusty google.sg but found nothing/ no blog entries on any food poisoning incident from Shin Kushiya, only food rave. eh, i should just rest my case.
After 3 days of plain and or fish porridge, i finally craved in to pepper seaweed cracker from taipei (yums) and Din Tai Fung's xiao long bao! My knees went soft, total heaven. I never had so much saliva churned while waiting for food.
ie. Food poisoning suck. and yes, that was my long weekend for you and i shared it! Ha. Oh, and i have to document this down. I had bird shit on my hair - half an inch away from my fish soup over lunch the other day. Sharon Zheng made me changed seat to face her and i should know better enough not to listen to a girl who had bird shit on her three times in a year just less than half a year through 08'. Do you believe in fate? I think i do. Congrats to me for having bird shit on me for the first time in my life but i didn't buy 4D nor Toto cause i didn't know how to. Piak. If you want more detailed information, the bird shit was red - we speculate it was either the birdie having menses or it had constipation. Nick said it was dirty blood so i should cleanse my hair with holy water, he must be kidding.
On the contrary, i wanted to log onto blogger for certain other reasons but not to note down my food poisoning or bird shit incidents. I wanted to share these instead because i discovered two golden rules and hence the title of the entry.
Golden Rule No 1
Stay silent, do not voice out unnecessarily. It works, it really works! Be it at work or when you are facing any irritating relationship issues.
I know i may generate a mark of protest but to each his own, i think this method works. Other than food poisoning, at least i learnt something new over that fateful mid-night weekend and it made me ponder. I look at my coll**gues who voiced out during work, them who voiced their dissatisfaction and complains but i don't see any concrete solutions purposely made or catered to their demands, only judgement. Judgement from people who do not know the truth and yet are the most critical. Judgement from people whom you think you've made known your dissatisfaction, so my point is - does it help voicing out?
It applies to relationship - don't judge me. Going forth, to maintain harmony - i shall stay silent, i do not want to be too dependent and i do not want to be judge for thinking what i thought was the only right to solve problems. Misinterpretations can lead to a lot of miscommunications. If you can stay silent, you win the race.
And i repeat - i share, but you don't judge.
Golden Rule No 2
Always fall back on Golden Rule No 1. Staying silent doesn't kill, i have learnt my lesson.
I shall share when i feel like it. For now, i guess its back to hiatus maybe. Shall end off with a happy picture - a new desktop picture!
