The Handphone

I dropped the phone while talking over the phone with the boyfriend. First, it banged against my table and then due to some physics mystery, rolled down onto the floor accompanied with my "NOOOoooooo". Result?

The resultant force killed one of the MOST essential button of the phone and refused to function after my attempt to drop it on the bed to see if the second round of shakin' can revive it back to its normal self. Alas. The button confessed dead. For 3 days, i couldnt read any of my messages, nor could i access any of the functions and all i could do was call.

Went down all the way to Jurong Point (its the nearest nokia care centre listed which is near the school) to get that button fix and i met a very cold-blooded (probably not cold blooded, but he is VERY indifferent) nokia-care man (er, whatever they call themselves). Anyway, that nokia-care man gave me a very indifferent and unfriendly attitude and even presented me with a "huh? whats wrong with ur button" kind of look. COME ON. IT CANT MOVE AND I CANT REALLY USE MY PHONE. YOU KNOW? Doh.
-_-". He continued to give me a puzzled look while trying to fix my phone and in e end gave up and decided to let the real technician do e job. Am i bitchy or services in singapore is just so pathetic? Cant he at least give me a smile or say a good afternoon or you know..let me know more details instead of constantly giving me that puppy blank look? Its just him, i concluded. After that, he nonchalantly popped up a sentence :"Please give us one and a half hour". Great. Alone at jurong point, what should i do?

Luckily, im smart. I brought my text book and notes along. I headed on to delifrance and ate lunch alone while reading my notes under nice 1990s pop music. Sometimes, things can be pretty ironic. I was reading Bert's blog and he wrote an entry about doing things alone and i am usually one of those that will exclaim and blurt things like " huh? You watched a movie alone???". Furthermore, just this afternoon, i was talking to tp and we both agreed that sitting alone in the campus canteen to eat lunch looks kinda wierd. So ironically, i was forced to eat lunch alone in delifrance and i officially became someone who dined alone in a cafe/restaurant.

HOWEVER, the feelin' was somehow fabulous. Its hard to describe but i sort of achieved a sense of independence and class. Like you know, imagine shuwen dressing nicely reading a knowledgeable-something and eating like a demure lady, slowly appreciating and cutting up her ciabatta mango chicken mayo and peach tart drinking raspberry juice. Class hor?

After that, i decided to go shopping alone because Jurong Point was simply too tempting for me not to walk at least ONE round before i leave. In the end, i stayed in POPULAR for half and hour. -_-" Wonder how come a university student can still shop so long for stationary that she already has. I was pretty amazed though, by the wide collections of asisgnment books and barang barang stationary that they are selling. Picked up quite a number of stuff and put back quite a number of stuff before i walked to the counter. Think if anyone was sitting there observing me, i would have looked like a primary school kid, trying out all the files, clips and flipping through all the beautifully designed note books. I looked silly. Only bought 2 big box files and a box of photo corners in the end. Erm. Satisfied.

My phone was ready for collection and i was half expecting to meet angela at JP and i really met her. This kind of sixth sense feelin' is really amazing especially when it really happen.

So now, my phone has downgraded in value beacuse the M1 sticker is torn. Pissed and blissful because, ive learnt to appreciate spending time alone.

AND, i seriously need to get down to cali soon.
